Gewurztraminer Late Harvest GrapesAOC ALSACE, mention Vendanges Tardives

2020

Cépage : Gewurztraminer

Grape Variety : Gewurztraminer

Late Harvest Grapes are the ultimate prize of the finest vintages. It is also a chance to gather our team of winemakers one last time and close the grape harvest in a permanent and beautiful way.

The grapes are harvested overripe, between October 25 and the end of November depending on the years.

They are harvested in a single stage. A portion of the grapes reaches noble rot and others parts are raisined (candied). The grapes reach a high sugar content, between 17 and 18.5 % potential volume of alcohol.

Alcoholic fermentation is stopped around 13 % volume, and the wine retains approximately 75g/l residual sugar.

Nevertheless, the quality of a late harvest is not just attributable to the sugar content. The raisining and the noble rot concentrate all the elements of the grape, transform and amplify the aromas, for a full, rich and smooth palate.

Tasting speaks louder than words!

A wine of great aromatic intensity. Spicy aromas, with notes of quinces, candied fruit. The palate is concentrated, intense and mellow as required, very pleasant!
